American Football is thriving all over the world, especially in Europe. To help develop the sport and keep competition at a high level, American players are “imported” onto club teams in various capacities. These players get paid to play the game they love while seeing the world and experience different cultures. One of these import players, linebacker Daniel Holland , was kind enough to answer a few questions about his time in Germany with the Berlin Rebels.
DANIEL HOLLAND’S JOURNEY
THE ROUTE TO EUROPE
How did you get to Germany? My Football Coach Kim Kuci gave me an opportunity to continue to play football at the highest level in Europe, I took the offer and I’m making the best of my opportunity .
How do you like life in Germany? The German People are cool people. Germany is a beautiful country and has a beautiful culture. Also the country side of the country is a sight to see if you have never seen it.
What is your go to meal in Germany? I have to say the Turkish Doner.
Do you spend a lot of time with teammates or on your own/with other imports? I spend most of my time with teammates.
What advice would you give to someone playing football in Europe for the first time? It’s a big culture shock coming over to Europe. Just Be Open Minded and be will willing to learn new things.
